Skylar L. Primm (he/him) has more than 15 years of teaching experience in student-centered, teacher-powered schools. For 11 years, he served as co-lead teacher at High Marq Environmental Charter School, before moving to Koshkonong Trails School in Cambridge[, Wisconsin], where students in grades 7-12 co-create an environment- and agriculture-focused education through project-based learning and place-based field experiences. In 2017, he was honored with a Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Fellowship in recognition of his teaching, leadership, and service, and in 2021 he was named the Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education Formal Educator of the Year.

Outside of school, Skylar works with the Greater Madison Writing Project, which nourishes his passions for collaboration, reflection, and action research. He serves on the boards of the Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education and the Human Restoration Project, and since 2021, he has led the Wisconsin Teacher-Powered Schools Network to support schools that are educator-led and student-centered.
